ABOUT

Three Founders. One Mission.

Our mission

BlackSwan exists because checkbox compliance culture failed employees and the organizations responsible for them. Training budgets grew, platforms multiplied, and completion metrics looked virtuous—yet incidents, unsafe shortcuts, and audit anxiety persisted. We believe the fix is not louder policy PDFs, but competence-based training that measures whether people can apply what they learned when distractions are real.

Our vision is straightforward: safety and compliance programs should produce evidence leadership can trust—signals of understanding and behavior change, not proxy scores from multiple-choice trivia. We are building the product we wished existed when we watched regulated teams wrestle with tools designed for content distribution, not risk reduction.

We care about accessibility. Serious training must reach frontline shifts, remote sites, and multilingual teams without friction. That is why BlackSwan is browser-first, EU-oriented, and designed to scale without exotic hardware.

We are also realistic about adoption: if a platform annoys managers or embarrasses learners, it dies in the field—no matter how elegant the pedagogy. Our design choices therefore privilege clarity, respect for people’s time, and feedback that helps rather than shames. The result is software teams are willing to defend internally when procurement cycles tighten.

The team

Albert Zapke

Albert Zapke

COO

Albert focuses on operations, customer delivery, and making sure pilots actually launch instead of stalling in procurement. He bridges product decisions with on-the-ground feedback from compliance and L&D leaders.

Moritz Fritz

Moritz Fritz

Co-CEO

Moritz helps set company direction, investor relationships, and strategic partnerships. He keeps BlackSwan anchored to the problems enterprise buyers actually fund—not science-fair demos.

Noah Heinz

Noah Heinz

Co-CEO

Noah leads commercial strategy and go-to-market execution, aligning module roadmap with how regulated industries buy and measure training. He spends time with customers refining what “audit-ready” means in practice.

Our story

BlackSwan began with a shared frustration forged at Maastricht University: brilliant students and professionals navigating complex EU rules while enterprises around them trained with tools stuck in the 2000s. We saw regulated industries—energy, manufacturing, logistics—spend heavily on programs that produced paperwork, not performance.

We started BlackSwan to close that gap with adaptive learning, realistic scenarios, and transparent competence tracking. Early pilots validated the thesis: when people practice the way they work, they remember; when leadership sees meaningful telemetry, budgets follow.

Based in Germany

Black Swan Solution UG (haftungsbeschränkt) is a German entity operating with EU-based hosting assumptions and a GDPR-oriented posture toward data processing. That foundation matters to customers who cannot ship employee data to arbitrary regions—and it shapes how we design authentication, retention, and contracts.
